Why do I need separate prescriptions for glasses and
for contacts?
The prescription for contact lenses includes more information
than what is available on the prescription for eyeglasses.
Special measurements are taken of the curvature of the
eye for the contact prescription.
Can I wear my contacts all night while I sleep?
Many patients are prescribed extended wear contacts.
There are several contact manufacturers that have designed
extended wear contacts. But not everyone can wear such
lenses due to corneal health, prescription of contacts,
astigmatism, etc.
My eyes got so dried out from my contacts.
Are there contacts to help this?
Yes, there are new lenses that may be much better
for this now — Dr. Parsons specializes in difficult,
hard to fit contact lens patients. Sometimes dryness
may be as simple as changing or reducing environmental
irritants, changing cleaning solutions or adding rewetting
drops. Some patients with chronic dryness may even
have a chronic infection of the eyelids.
